Reading to Celebrate Black History Month

One way to celebrate Black History Month is through the simple–yet powerful–act of reading. Literature, much like other art forms, speaks to the experience and perspectives of a given time or person. Through the power of reading, some of us discover experiences beyond our own, while others find new connections to shared experiences. This gallery reflects a variety of genres, lengths, and styles, and all encompass the spirit of Black History Month. If you are interested in any of these books, they can be found in the ACIT Media Center.
