On Tuesday, February 21, 2023, the ACIT Boys basketball team made history with their first victory in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Playoffs. The Redhawks completed the thrilling upset over No.6 seed Cherokee with a close game of 52-48. Last night they pushed their overall record to 20-6 which is an amazing record for the year. This is not only the best record in ACIT history, but also the 1st 20 win season ever. Jayden Lopez, who has be a great player throughout the season led the way to victory with 16 points, Nasir Tucker with 12 points, Desi Stroud with 9 points, Zahir Davis with 8 points and Jameil Quintana with 7 points.

While we celebrate ACIT’s victory over Cherokee, the team still has more work to do to win the tournament. Egg Harbor Township High School is coming with a win over Millville in the first round of the NJSIAA Playoffs with a score of 69-48. EHT is a tough team that ACIT has to defeat in order to move even further in the NJSIAA playoffs.
