Preview of NJSIAA Swimming State Championships

NJSIAA Swimming State Qualifying Times found on https://www.njsiaa.org/sports/swimming

On March 5 and 6, 2023, swimmers from all across the state will be competing at the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Swimming State Championships. In this competition, swimmers have to qualify by reaching a certain time. Some of the top teams from our area competing are Saint Augustine Prep, Egg Harbor Township, Ocean City, and many more Atlantic County towns. ACIT has a couple of swimmers that will be competing at this race and we are excited to highlight them here today.

ACIT has many swimmers that will be competing in this event, including Junior of ACIT Gerard Traynor, myself! I will be competing in the 100 backstroke with an entering time of 51.20. There will also be a sophomore from ACIT by the name Tanner Innis who will be competing in the 200 freestyle and the 500 freestyle. His entry time for the 200 freestyle is a 1:44.80 and for the 500 freestyle he earned a 4:46.12.

This race is a fast one and swimmers are training hard for the event coming up this weekend. If you would like to join us and many other swimmers will be at Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) on March 4, 2023. Young athletes will be competing for the male and female preliminary races and then again on March 5, for male and female final races. With Saint Augustine Prep winning the all state championship in the past, I believe State Championships will be a very fast meet, considering this is the best in the state.
