ACIT’s first annual Fall Writing Contest was a hit success with 27 students across all grades in participation. In the spirit of Halloween, the three element prompt required writers to include a black cat, a piece of candy, and a monster. Unfortunately the submissions for the short short story were not up to par with the judges standards and expectations. So instead, the top three short story submissions were chosen to be recognized by The Pursuit. From strange vacant houses, to an unlikely friendship between a vampire and werewolf, the winning stories have their own charm. We hope you enjoy these stories just as much as we did.
First Place: Victoria Torcasio (Sophomore) with The House at the End of the Alley
Second Place: Chelsey Obot (Freshman) with Precious
Third Place: Devynn Steinman (Senior) with Trick or Treat
First and second place winners received a certificate of recognition, a gift card to BAM, and publication of their story in The Pursuit. Third place received a certificate of recognition and publication of their story in The Pursuit.
