Gingerbread house village in the café made by chefs and students. After a few years they brought back this idea of a gingerbread display for the holidays. Baking students will make separate houses that will then be donated to children who are sick in the hospital over the holiday.

Chef Henry taste-tests salads prepared by freshman culinary students. Some of these salads include pasta salad and potato salad. After the students hands-on work, Chef Henry makes sure they season and put everything together correctly.

Displayed in the window of the Café on Main, this gingerbread village was mainly a teacher-driven idea. Chef Morse used a sheet of plywood and made the base of the village, then the chefs and students used their creative abilities to decorate it.

There are various decorations that are a part of this gingerbread village. The students added smaller details to the village with their own designs. The purpose of this activity wasn’t just for fun, but als to enhance the students skills.

Students in Baking frosted about 80 gingerbread people to be sold on the cookie trays for the holiday. This piping technique is one that the students need to learn as it plays both parts for their learning and selling cookies.
